OPIUM LATEX

Opium latex is a milky, white, viscous fluid that is extracted from the seed pods of the poppy plant, Papaver somniferum. This substance is the raw material from which opium is derived, and it contains a variety of alkaloids, including morphine, codeine, and thebaine. These alkaloids are responsible for the drug's potent analgesic (pain-relieving) and euphoric effects.

Opium latex is typically collected by making incisions in the immature seed pods of the poppy plant, allowing the latex to flow out. It is then dried and processed to produce opium, which can be further refined into various opioid drugs such as heroin, morphine sulfate, and codeine.

Opium latex can be heated and inhaled as a vapor, either through smoking or vaping. When heated, the volatile compounds in the latex release fumes that can be inhaled into the lungs. This method is often used for faster onset of effects and is common in illicit use.
